Benefits of having an Arizona medical marijuana card

You save money on weed

Choosing medical over recreational marijuana in Arizona could save you hundreds, even thousands, of dollars. Medical marijuana is more affordable, taxed less, and often comes with extra dispensary perks.

Medical marijuana is subject to less tax (6.2% sales tax) compared to recreational marijuana (16% Excise tax and 6.2% sales tax).

For a $100 purchase, an Arizona medical marijuana patient will pay only about $6.20 in sales tax, where a recreational customer would pay $22.20 in taxes for the same product!

Access to higher dosage products

Arizona recreational marijuana customers are limited to products containing 10 mg or less of THC per serving and 100 mg or less per package. There is no limit on product or package dosages for Arizona medical marijuana patients!

Legal Protection at Work

Arizona medical patients receive legal protections at their workplace that aren’t available to customers without a medical card.

No age restrictions on purchasing marijuana

Arizona recreational marijuana is only legal in Arizona for Adults 21 and older. An Arizona medical marijuana patient can be of any age and be able to purchase medicine at ANC.

Higher Purchase Limits

As an Arizona Medical Marijuana patient you can possess up to 2.5 ounces of marijuana in any form or combination of forms, including flower and/or concentrates or preparations made from Marijuana. As a Recreational customer, you are only allowed up to 1 ounce of marijuana at any given time, with no more than 5 grams of that amount being in the form of a marijuana concentrates.

Protect your SSI payments

Seniors with medical marijuana cards need not worry about losing their Social Security benefits, as stated by a spokesperson from the Social Security Administration, unless they are convicted of a criminal offense related to marijuana or confined in a correctional institution for an extended period. Therefore, maintaining their medical marijuana patient status can be advantageous for seniors using cannabis as part of their daily routine.
